Gingersnap Cookies

 ¾ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
¼ cup light molasses
1 Tsp.   Soda
½ Tsp. Salt
½ Tsp. Cinnamon
¼ Tsp. ginger
2 cups of all-purpose flour

 Beat until dough forms.  Divide into 6 equal parts.  Shape into 12 inch rolls.  Cut into 1-inch pieces.  Dip tops in water, then sugar.  Place on greased cookie sheets.  Bake at 350 deg for 9-10 minutes.  Makes 6 dz.
