Restaurant Description:
Once a frequently visited haunt, Dovie's is now mostly reserved for functions such as weddings and business meetings. Its wide array of selections of modern American dishes allow guests a variety of choosings in its classically decored surroundings. Their steaks have been a bit dry in the past but its attentive staff make up for this slight gaffe.

Patrons who favor American-style dining know that Dovie's Restaurant has been a culinary favorite in Addison for nearly 20 years. Established in 1980, Dovie's is open for lunch and dinner. More recently, Dovie's cachet is catching on as an ideal spot for nuptial events. Dovies' many private rooms make it a natural for rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, birthdays, showers and corporate functions. Designed by an east coast architect and built in the 1930's Dovies' was first used as a farm house on what was then the prairie. When the house became Dovie's in May, 1980, only the large courtyard room was added. The upstairs bedrooms were converted to dining rooms and a bar. Downstairs, the breakfast and dining rooms, lounge and den all remain mostly as they were in 1930. Table cloths, fresh flowers, and a touch of bygone days make it special. At Dovie's Restaurant the menus are a twist on traditional and modern American food.
