Deep in the heart of "Little Asia" (Garland) this 1,600 seater Chinese and Vietnamese restaurant truly exemplifies the true meaning of authenticity from its dishes' ingredients to its almost oblivious service (the joke is to order 3 glasses of water the minute you walk in). From the appetizers to the soups (don't leave without trying their infamous fire bowls-canh chua), to the main courses, you will leave forgetting the discouraging service and keep coming back for more.

This Addison favorite stays open till 2:00am and Friday and Saturday, which makes it appealing for dinner or late nighst on weekends. Never being able to decide on my appetizer, they make it easy with their Super Pu Pu Tray, which you can order for one. The Pan Fried Chinese Dumplings are another sure thing. A unique soup is the Shark fin soup, which I really liked. For my main entrees I have tried the Five Flavor Shrimp and the Lobster in Ginger Root & Scallions. Portions are large, but not very economical as compared to other Chinese restaurants at this upscale location. But taste and convenience of late-night opening make it a favorite of this review when he lived about a mile away for about 12 years.

This Thai restaurant has the decor typical to many Asian resturants but their food is far above par. I loved their shrimp spring rolls and especially liked their Pad Po. The location next to Bayor seemed dotted with locals as an occassional doctor or nurse came in to pick up to go food. Food is first class and they have won distinction with not only this critic but from others in Dallas as well.

This is a great lunch spot to have a casual and very yummy lunch. It's small, but it really delivers on the quality of food, preparation & presentation. I have tried most entrees, but the one I like most were the Drunken Shrimp, Saigon Pepper Steak, and the Pad-Thai Chicken. Pho Noodle soup was quite tasty also. I have not had a bad dish yet as this spot has become a once a week regular for me.

I have had fun dining here each time I have eaten at this Mongolian BBQ restaurant. The chain is starting to pop up all over but I have only been to the Greenville and Addison locations. This is a glamorous stir-fry restaurant where you select the ingredients, sauces, seasonings and oil and hand them off to the cooks to cook while you wait. They sear the ingredients on a 600-degree oven, and do it to perfection. It comes with rice and a tortilla shell. This place is fun for your business diners at lunch and the Lower Greenville crowd at night. Lunch is the best bet at $6.99 since it goes to $12.99 at dinner for the same food. They offer a wide assortment of Asian beers and drinks.

Attentive staff and just plain good food make this little Richardson restaurant a smart choice. Dumplings are the main stay here, served steamed or boiled and filled with pork, shrimp, chicken, beef, or even vegetarian. Being the World's spokes person for pork chops, I tried it and it was delightful.

KOREA HOUSE RESTAURANT

Harry Hines and Royal Lane are full of Korean restaurants and this is one of the best. This is the most upscale in the area and a great place for a business lunch. The box lunches are the pick of choice. I had the Bulgogi (prime ribeye) lunch box and my date had a Korean style soup called Yook Gae Jang (Hot & spicy soup with beef, vegetables and noodles). The soup was enough for a whole meal, of which a managed to get a few delicious spoonfuls. My lunch box had a little bit of everything from and egg roll to salad in it. It was wonderful. I want to come back for dinner where you get to cook you own dinners at your table. They also have an outstanding selection of Korean soju, sake, and beer. Lunch for two was about $27.00
