A high bread between a sports bar and Friday's this chains offer on one side sports and the other good American food. A favorite of mine to playing pool and kicking back casual, the burgers are great, and the wings hot as hell.

This is the media’s favorite sports bar, so if you have an interest on being interviewed on TV, hang around here for big Mavericks and Stars games. The Uptown American sports bar has good hot wings and a better than average burger. Lots of TV and pool tables for the true sports enthusiast.

A voguish version of your typical sports bar, Champps offers you hearty and substantial portions of your not so typical "bar food" like the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad and its wide array of burgers. Mostly notorious for its spinsters and the "lovelies" that they attract. It can get a bit loud with it's simultaneous big screen TVs and the live DJ presenting its varying nightly forms of entertainment.

Need a sports bar where you won’t feel crowded...then go to this converted multi-screen theater turned into the ultimate sports bar. This place may not be the biggest sports bar in town, I think it is, but it for sure has the biggest projection screen of any bar, said none. There are projection screen TV’s everywhere where you can watch everything from WWF wrestling to football. A stable of hearty burgers and sandwiches go nicely with special priced drinks. Did I mention the schoolgirl outfits on the waitresses...worth a trip in itself? They also may have the most pool tables of any bar in Dallas also.

Part sports bar, part restaurant, part private dining, part a little bit of everything you might be looking for in this concept. My first visit was on an ESPN sports promotion, packed and a little smoky, but that’s almost over. I had calamari and salmon and thought…the food is great. I cam back for a birthday party had lots of good wine and tried their tuna, outstanding and what reasonable bottles of wine since we drank 8 of them. Next visit I didn’t know what to order so I order all three and was glad I didn’t have to miss out on any of these new favorite appetizers of mine. Next time I’m going for the steaks and think that since these are the same great people from Maguire’s in North Dallas, one thing is going to be as good as the next. Welcome to Uptown and the voice activated towels in the bathroom are too much fun.

If you never thought that you could never get great food at a sports bar, you are wrong. The chicken fried rib-eye is a personal favorite, followed by the Surf and Turf priced at $23.95. That’s right, a lobster and filet that tastes great with sides included. Did I mention the fact that some of the prettiest girls hang at this sports bar. Also, if you like it hot, try the THAI WINGS, they are my favorite, appitizer, but make sure to order an extra beer or water before diving in. It might be the candles and curtains that Tracy has around the bar, making the traditional male somewhat behave and be less obnoxious. Some of the best TV’s to view a game in the metro-plex. A must on Monday night football, and a great spot to watch the Maverick ‘s or Stars when they are on the road
