     Renowned Chef and restaurateur Michael Kornick opened mk, a sophisticated and elegant expression of dining in November 1998. Since opening, the restaurant has been acclaimed by the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun Times, both recognizing mk with a three-star review.

     Conde Nast Traveler selected mk as one of the "Hottest Restaurants in the World," and Esquire chose mk as one of the "Top 25 restaurants to open in 1999." Most recently Chef Kornick had been nominated by the James Beard Foundation as the "Best Midwest Chef".

     mk's award-winning wine list is designed to compliment the cuisine. The list offers values at all price points, and the wait staff is prepared to assist guests in the perfect pairing for the meal. mk's list contains wines from limited supply boutique wineries as well as internationally recognized producers. mk offers 2 unique private dining experiences. There is a dedicated private room perfect for any occasion. Chef Kornick produces seasonal menus to suit your needs - from a cocktail party with passed hors d'oeuvres to a multi-course sit-down dinner. Additionally, there is a "chef's table" in the main dining room for seating up to 12 guests. Chef Kornick will personally design a menu to fit the needs of the guests and if desired, select appropriate wines.
